ILO, Gallup to publish joint report on International Women’s Day

GENEVA/WASHINGTON – The International Labour Organization (ILO) and Gallup will launch a joint report entitled Towards a Better Future for Women and Work: Voices of Women and Men on the occasion of International Women’s Day on 8 March.

The study provides a first-ever account of global attitudes and perceptions of women and men regarding women and work based on the 2016 Gallup World Poll.

The poll, which was conducted in 142 countries and territories, is representative of 98 per cent of the global population.

The report and all associated material and information are under strict embargo until 02.00 GMT on Wednesday, 8 March (21.00 EST on Tuesday, 7 March).

The official launch of the report will take place at the Gallup building in Washington, DC on 8 March during a special panel discussion. Speakers will include actress, producer and activist Eva Longoria; chairwoman and CEO of Care.com Sheila Lirio Marcelo; Gallup CEO Jim Clifton; Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences’ winner Sir Angus Deaton and ILO Director-General Guy Ryder.
