    6,000 years of history brought back to life

    The historic Erbil Citadel in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq dates back at least 6,000 years. The ILO joined forces with the EU, UNESCO and local partners to preserve national heritage, while promoting decent work for residents and Syrian refugees through labour-intensive approaches. ILO’s Deputy Regional Director for Arab States recently visited the site to inspect ongoing renovation works.

    Indigenous peoples build new water system in Looy, Maguindanao

    Teduray, a group of indigenous peoples in the Philippines built a new water system under the ILO Japan Water and Sanitation Project that will provide access to clean and safe water, at the same time contribute to promoting decent work and building peace in the Bangsamoro region.
