In the ongoing global jobs crisis, many of Europe’s most educated young people are learning a bitter lesson; for highly educated young people, it’s becoming very hard to find a job which matches the skills acquired at university. It’s a particular problem in Portugal, where nearly 2 in 5 young people are unemployed. Now, many of Portugal’s best and brightest are looking for opportunities abroad, leaving their country. But what if there was a tool that evaluates jobs based on the requirements of the job and not whether women or men perform them? It exists, and it’s being used in an unlikely place: behind the scenes of Portugal’s busiest restaurants.
