International Labour Conference opens with call to address workplace violence and harassment
The annual International Labour Conference got under way in Geneva today. Opening the conference, Samir Murad, Minister of Labour of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and ILO Director-General Guy Ryder called for strong action to end violence and harassment at the workplace.
Over 5000 delegates from Governments, workers and employers from the 187 ILO Member States are due to negotiate the adoption of a possible Convention or Recommendation on violence and harassment at work.
