We are all united to stop gender-based violence, says ILO Chief

Violence in the world of work is deeply injurious to women and men, and there are obvious consequences for their families and societies, said ILO Director-General, Guy Ryder speaking at the International Women's Day event at the ILO. Mr Ryder stressed how putting an end to gender-based violence at work is integral to the promotion of decent work. Ms Janes Hodges, Director of the Bureau for Gender Equality of the ILO moderated the event; Ms Sarah Fox, Legal Counsel, American Federation of Labour and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) and Ms Brenda Cuthbert of the Jamaica Employers' Federation (JEF) participated in the panel debate, while Dr Charlotte Harland Scott of the Republic of Zambia delivered the keynote address.
