Better Work partners with Sri Lankan garment industry stakeholders

The ILO and IFC’s Better Work programme is launching an ambitious industry-level intervention in Sri Lanka, with the support of the European Union. Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are the main sources of employment worldwide. However, access to adequate financial services is a key challenge to their development. The ILO believes that financial education is one path to support MSMEs. Our collaboration with ANDE aims to strengthen the financial knowledge and capacities of entrepreneurs in Uruguay.

New skills helped my business recover from pandemic

Juanda Badaru, who lives with a disability, saw his small business income halved due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Then his business expanded after he took entrepreneurship and small boat engine maintenance training.

ILO trains Ghanaian businesses on business digitization and e-commerce

In an attempt to circumvent the odds of COVID-19 pandemic, the International Labour Organisation (ILO) Sustaining Competitive and Responsible Enterprises (SCORE) Ghana Project educates SMEs on business digitalization and e-commerce. This initiative is aimed at equipping SMEs with the knowledge and the drive to design and promote their businesses in the digital space.

Chinese entrepreneurs benefit from the ILO’s global Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB) course
