MSME productivity, inclusive growth and decent work creation

This report prepared by the International Labour Organization (ILO) together with the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) for the 2nd G20 Employment Working Group meeting explains how productivity in MSMEs can be increased through a comprehensive approach. The "Productivity Ecosystem for Decent Work" framework addresses the main MSME productivity drivers, such as management and workforce skills, business digitalisation, enterprise formalization and access to social protection. It takes a sector and local perspective to account for the significant variations in productivity challenges across sectors and regions.

Initial review of community-based vocational training (CBVT) in G20 countries - presentation

This presentation is based on the report prepared by the International Labour Organization (ILO) for the 1st G20 Employment Group Meeting in 2022. It addresses one of the priorities identified by the Indonesian Presidency. It provides an overview of Community-Based Vocational Training (CBVT) schemes and approaches in G20 countries with a focus on rural areas. It describes how CBVT is organized, governed, financed, and implemented in different countries, building on community structures and decentralized forms of management. It clusters countries into different types of schemes, provides examples of the role CBVT has played during the COVID-19 pandemic and the role information technology and ICTs play in skills design and delivery of CBVT. Pointing to a number of lessons learned in making CBVT realize its potential in G20 countries, the presentation aims at informing policy debate and knowledge sharing among members of the G20 Employment Working Group.

This presentation is based on the report prepared by the International Labour Organization (ILO) together with the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) for the 1st G20 Employment Working Group meeting that addresses one of the priority areas identified by the Indonesian Presidency. It highlights measures G20 member states can take to ensure that persons with disabilities will benefit from the opportunities provided by the digital and green economy, as well as minimize some of the challenges that derive in particular from digitalization.
