News | 11 October 2016
From 6 to 7 October 2016, the Office of the Legal Adviser, in collaboration with the International Training Centre of the ILO (ITCILO) and external experts, held a pilot workshop on Managing employment disputes effectively in international organizations. Twenty legal specialists and human resources professionals from nine international organizations attended the two-day workshop at the ILO Headquarters in Geneva.

The workshop was structured around key themes, such as prevention and early resolution, internal appeals, judicial appeals and internal investigations. Based on this pilot activity and the participants’ feedback, a full-fledged training course is being developed and will be launched at the ITCILO Turin campus in February 2017.
The three-day standard course aims at enhancing the capacity of international organizations to prevent and manage conflict internally and is addressed to legal and human resources professionals, alternative dispute resolution specialists, staff representatives, managers, peer review secretariat staff and registry staff of international administrative tribunals.
