Training Workshop - Building Modern and Effective Labour Administration & Inspection System in Indonesia

A week long training workshop for labour inspectors was carried out by LAB/ADMIN in partnership with ILO-Jakarta and the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration (MOMT).

Workshop | Bogor, Indonesia | 11 April 2011
René Robert (Technical Specialist, LAB/ADMIN) and A. Sivananthiran (ILO consultant) led the workshop for 65 Indonesian labour inspectors based on the ITC-ILO training curriculum. This workshop followed the recent adoption of a Presidential Decree and MOMT Regulation adopted to promote and improve the coordination of the country's labour inspection system and was an opportunity to help strategize with labour inspectors and MOMT managers on how best to implement these new legal instruments. The subjects addressed during the workshop included Cooperation and Partnership; Strategies for Compliance; Gender Equality; Inspection of Working Conditions and OSH; the Employment Relationship; Vulnerable Groups; Institutional Capacity Building and New Technologies. The workshop was made possible through the generous financial assistance of the Norwegian Government in the context of a global ILO project on strengthening labour administration and inspection services.
