Programme Consultative Committee meets and shares recommendations for More and Better Jobs for Women

At the first meeting of the Programme Consultative Committee, members recommended that violence and harassment be integrated into the training modules under the Programme, cooperation be maintained with the private sector and trade unions, National Action Plans be monitored, work on childcare services be continued, and future jobs for women be accorded higher importance.

Cooperation initiative between Turkey and Colombia will foster capacities for access to decent work for all during and beyond COVID-19

Decent work is the root of social cohesion and the catalyst for employment opportunities and social protection as well as an essential response to the COVID-19 pandemic. With this in mind, the ILO facilitated two webinars on labour market governance, inclusive employment policies and access to social protection within the framework of the “South-south triangular cooperation (SSTC) initiative between Turkey and Colombia”.

ILO, Russia Sign Programme of Cooperation for 2021-2024

The Russian tripartite constituents – Government, employers’ and workers’ organizations - and ILO Director-General Guy Ryder today signed a Programme of Cooperation between Russia and the ILO for the years 2021-2024. The Programme capitalizes on the experiences and results achieved under five Programmes of cooperation (PoC) signed since 2006, and also takes into consideration challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Transition to Formality Programme (KIGEP) successful in formalizing informal employment and creating new jobs

460 enterprises and over 3,500 workers benefited from the Programme. Enterprises that received KIGEP support had a 16% greater employment increase than those that did not. The KIGEP support contributed five times of its volume to the national income, and two times of its volume to the State’s social security premium revenues. A total of 13 million TRY was delivered to enterprises under the Programme. Business costs decreased, no worker was laid off, and debts were paid.
