This guideline has been produced as a result of an ILO/ASIST and TRL regional research project seeking to increase the application of labour-based methods through development of appropriate engineering standards funded by DFID. The guideline provides information, guidance and instructions on quality assurance procedures and specifications applicable for road works executed using labour-based methods. Theguideline focuses on construction of road and related structures and aims at improving efficiency of the approval of labour-based road works. It seeks to promote method specification based quality assurance which in turn makes approval of works more efficient and less complicated.
