ILO's global photo contest "WORK4YOUTH"

The ILO Youth Employment Programme had organized a photo contest to shed light on youth employment issues and the challenges young people face in the workplace. Since the launch of the Photo Contest, we have received hundreds of amazing pictures taken by photographers from every corner of the world.  It has been very tough for the jury to select the best photos!

At the end of 2012, the ILO Youth Employment Programme launched a photo contest that focused on young people at work. The photo contest was organized in partnership with the ILO Decent Work Technical Support Team and Country Office for Central and Eastern Europe in Budapest, and financed by The MasterCard Foundation.

The objective of the contest was to highlight the challenges young people face in the workplace, as well as propose innovative ideas to address them. Participants were invited to capture youth at work (in different places and under various conditions) in a creative and original manner

Given the high quality and beauty of the photos that the jury received, the decision-making process was long and tough. After much discussion, the jury finally reached an agreement on the three top images submitted to the ‘Global category’.

We wish to thank again the hundreds of people who sent us their amazing photos!
