STRENGTHEN2 project visits Cameroon to discuss its needs on Employment Impact Assessment

Actualité | 6 mars 2023

The STRENGTHEN2 project visited Cameroon from 20-24 February 2023 to discuss the country’s needs for Employment Impact Assessment. The project brought the ILO Employment Impact Assessment (EmpIA) toolkit and first-hand experiences operating in seven other sub-Saharan African countries to government institutions in Cameroon. The scoping mission included various bilateral and multilateral meetings with relevant stakeholders to assess the government’s needs on EmpIAs and to discuss data availability for such exercises.

A general training took place on 22 February and was hosted by the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Land Planning. This was followed by a workshop, with over 40 participants from 10 different government administrations and non-profit organisations.

The STRENGTHEN2 project aims to help the country improve its existing employment impact evaluation capacity, and contribute to Cameroon’s National Development Strategy 2030.
