Methods for producing world and regional estimates for selected key indicators of the labour market

Employment Paper 2000/6

Considers two approaches to address the problem of making world and regional estimates for the Key Indicators of the Labour Market (KILMs) project: the first treats the missing data and the second a small area estimation problem. Presents a number of methods or estimation procedures within each of the two approaches. Also discusses differences and similarities between the two approaches and gives conditions under which particular estimators are identical in each method.
