Fishermen Investment Trust Act 2006 (No. 29 of 2006). -

Establishes the Fishermen Investment Trust, the objectives of which is to invest, directly or through a body controlled by it in fishing activities; fish processing activities; fish marketing; and such other activities related to the fishing industry as may be approved by the Board. Sets out the powers, composition etc. of the Board and the functioning of the Trust.

Fishermen Welfare Fund Act 2000 (No. 28 of 2000).

Makes provision for the establishment of a Fishermen Welfare Fund to provide for the social and economic welfare of fishermen and their families. Regulates establishment of the Fund, objectives of the Fund, composition, meetings and powers of the board, appointment of staff, protection of members, and some related matters.

The Fisheries and Marine Resources Act 1998 (Act No. 22 of 1998). -

Regulates the management of fisheries and marine resources and imposes restrictions on fishing, importing and exports. It also provides that all fishermen are to be registered with the Permanent Secretary (section 5), that before leaving, they must have a Fishermen Continuous Records Book and that trainee fisherman are not to stay at sea for a cumulative period of more than 6 months (section 48). Repeals the Fisheries Act 1980.
