    Establishes the Teaching Council. Objectives of the Council include promoting teaching as a profession; promoting professional development of teachers; maintaining and improving the quality of teaching; providing for the establishment of standards, policies and procedures for the education and training of teachers and other matters relating to teachers and the teaching profession; providing for the registration and regulation of teachers; and enhancing professional standards and competence.

  2. Irlande - Enseignants - Loi

    Universities Act (No. 24 of 1997).

    Adoption: 1997-05-14 | IRL-1997-L-47017

    Comprehensive legislation covering the establishment, function, administration, and financing of universities. Section 14 provides for academic freedom, permitting members of the academic staff to "question and test received wisdom." S. 26 provides for the establishment of dispute resolution procedures to deal with matters other than those dealt with through normal industrial relations structures. Schedule 5 provides for the creation of superannuation schemes for university staff.
