The European Union (Withdrawal Agreement) Act implements the Withdrawal Agreement, as agreed between the United Kingdom and the European Union (EU). The Act is required to implement the Withdrawal Agreement for it to have domestic legal effect and to enable the UK Government to ratify the Withdrawal Agreement. This Act is also the vehicle for the Government to give effect to the EEA EFTA Separation Agreement between the UK and Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein, and the Swiss Citizens’ Rights Agreement between the UK and Switzerland.

    Anguilla Constitution (Amendment) Order 2019 (2019 No. 852). - Legislation on-line

    Adoption: 2019-04-10 | GBR-2019-L-109063

This Order amends the Constitution of Anguilla. It changes the title of Chief Minister to Premier and introduces a limit of two consecutive terms for the Premier. It substitutes the term Anguillian for a person who belongs to Anguilla, and revises the categories of people who qualify as Anguillians. It also makes some changes to the qualifications for elected membership of the House of Assembly and the qualifications of voters, and enables the establishment by legislation of an island-wide single electoral district in addition to the single-member electoral districts into which Anguilla is divided. With effect from the next dissolution of the House of Assembly, it abolishes the office of nominated member of the House of Assembly.

  6. Royaume-Uni - Dispositions générales - Loi

    Children Act 1989 (Amendment) (Female Genital Mutilation) Act 2019 (2019 c. 10). - Legislation on-line

    Adoption: 2019-03-15 | GBR-2019-L-109711

The Act amends section 8(4) of the Children Act 1989 (“the 1989 Act”) to add proceedings for Female Genital Mutilation Protection Orders (“FGMPOs”) in England and Wales, under Section 5A of, and Schedule 2 to, the Female Genital Mutilation Act 2003, to the list of proceedings which are “family proceedings” for the purpose of the 1989 Act.

The effect of the amendment proposed by the Act would be to allow an applicant for an FGMPO to also apply for a care or supervision order (or other such appropriate order under the 1989 Act) as part of the same proceedings, rather than having to make separate applications for such orders as at present. It will also mean that when a court is dealing with a FGMPO, it will also have powers available under the Children Act 1989 to make other orders regarding the welfare of the child. This will increase the ability of the court to protect children at risk.
