    The Act is enacted to ensure National Digital Security and enact laws regarding Digital Crime Identification, Prevention, Suppression, Trial and other related matters.

    Of note: the Act includes a jail sentence of up to 14 years for any "propaganda or campaign against liberation war, cognition of liberation war, father of the nation, National Anthem or National Flag" (Section 21). Section 31(1) provides that a person may be jailed for up to 10 years if the "destroy any communal harmony or create unrest or disorder".

    The law stipulates that the police, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Customs, Immigration, Criminal Investigation Department (CID), intelligence agencies, Ansar & VDP, Coast Guard and other public servants cannot extract confessional statement through torture.

    The law says any custodian torturing a detainee would be liable of committing offences defined under the law. Again, any person attempting to commit, aiding and abetting to commit, or conspiring to commit an offence must be considered an offender.

    According to the new law, for any death in custody, the custodian would be awarded with rigorous life imprisonment or a fine of Tk100,000. In addition, they must compensate family members of the affected with Tk200,000.

    The Parent's Care Act, 2013, a law to ensure social security of the senior citizens, compels the children to take good care of their parents. According to the law, the children will have to take necessary steps to look after their parents and provide them with food and shelter. Each of the children will have to pay 10% of their total income regularly to their parents if they do not live with their parents. Moreover, children will have to meet their parents regularly if they live in separate residences. Furthermore, under no circumstances are children allowed to send their parents in old homes beyond their wishes. The law also allows aggrieved parents to file cases against their children if they decline to support them. A first class magistrate court will settle issues related to the violation of the law. For reconciliation of any issues, local government representatives such as chairmen, members and others authorised by them will settle the disputes. The law has the provision of Tk200,000 as fine and, in default, six months jail term for violation of the law. Spouse or any relative, including the in-laws, will be considered as offenders and will be punished if they are proved to be guilty of having objected to such support.

    An Environment Court and an Environment Appeal Court are instituted under this Act and Judges appointed: the Courts shall rule trials under environmental laws and condemn violators of those very laws. Special Magistrates may be appointed for particular trials, power of investigation and inspection shall be accorded to inspectors in order to gather useful evidences.

    The Department of Environment is instituted as per section 3 of this Act and a Director General appointed to lead it. All the provisions are directed to protect the environment by any polluting , be it a solid, liquid, gaseous, or noise, heat and radiation. Rules are indicated in order to avoid any environmental damage when dealing with hazardous substances. By notification in the Official Gazette, an area could be declared ecologically critical area and restrictions applied to the discharge of pollutants in the air, water, land, sea and so on. Inspections on premises ,suspected of polluting the ecosystem, could be ordered and seizure of equipment, materials and samples of polluted resources seized upon. An Environmental Clearance Certificate from the Director General must be issued before initiating any commercial or industrial activity and environmental guidelines provided and largely distributed and enforced in order to prevent ecological disasters.
