    Executive Regulations for Federal Act No. 43 of 1992 regulating Penal Institutions.

    Deals with various aspects of imprisonment. Chapter 1 makes provision for administration and inspection of penal institutions, including disciplinary penalties. Chapter 3 deals with work of prisoners, wages and occupational accidents. S. 49 provides that prisoners shall not be employed on feast days and on official occasions except for the necessary tasks required by the prison institution. According to s. 50, the chief of the prison institution shall specify the kind of work to be undertaken by prisoners after carrying out the necessary medical examinations.

    Ministerial Decree on the promulgation of executive Regulations for Federal Act No. 43 of 1992 regulating penitentiaries (No. 471 of 1995).

    Deals with various aspects of imprisonment. Chapter 3 regulates employment of prisoners, wages and occupational accidents. Section 48 provides that work in prison shall take place during week days except Fridays and official feasts. Works shall start at 8 a.m. and finish at 1 p.m. During Ramadan, work shall start at 9 a.m.. Section 50 provides for medical examination of prisoners. Sections 52-57 deal with prisoners' wages. Section 58 makes provision for occupational accidents.

    Sections 24, 26, 37, 38, and 39 deal with work of prisoners. Section 24 establishes that prisoners of caterory (c) may not work except for tasks identified in the executive regulations. They shall receive appropriate remuneration, and shall not work for more than eight hours per day. Their state of health is to be taken into account in determining their employment. Also makes provision for wages and disciplinary measures.

    Book II contains Penal Code of United Arab Emirates (not completed). Book I contains general and introductory provisions, and regulates scope of application of Penal Code, penalties, criminal procedures, and social defence. Sets foth penal provisions regarding strikes by public officials and prohibits a number of activities aimed at fighting or tarnishing teachings of Islam. Book II contains provisions on crimes relating to security of the state and its interests, and on felonies relating to religious creeds and practices.
