    Establishment of Labour Court and Consideration of Labour Cases Act (No. 2) B.E. 2550 (2007).

    Section 3 - the definition of labour union is repealed and replaced and the new definition reads: "labour union" measn labour organization established according to the law concerning Labour Relations or concerning State Enterprise Labour Relations. Also makes various amendments to other parts of the Act.

    Sections 17 and 103 of the Labour Relations Act, B.E. 2518 (Legislative Series, 1975-Thai.1) are amended, and new provisions are inserted as sections 17 bis, 120 bis and 129 bis. Stricter rules are laid down in respect of advisors to workers' and employers' representatives, and their appointment, now revocable, is subject to registration by the Director-General of the Department of Labour (penalties are prescribed for non-compliance). Trade unions are expressly granted the right to strike, subject to certain conditions largely determined by the Minister of Internal Affairs.

    The Act governs the establishment, membership, functioning and work of the Federation of Thai Industries, which is to act as the representative of industrial operators in the private sector. Ch. 3 spells out state control over the Federation, and s. 7 of Ch. 1 lists activities prohibited to it. Ch. 5 provides for penalties and Ch. 6 contains transitory provisions.
