Also revokes and replaces the First Schedule to the Regulations.

    Pensions (Amendment) Regulations 1994 (G.N. No. 76 of 1994)

    Provides that no period during which an officer has been absent from duty on leave without salary shall be taken into account as pensionable service unless (a) such leave is granted on grounds of public policy with the approval of the President; or (b) the officer pays to the Government 25 per cent of the salary he would, as a serving officer, have earned but for his leave of absence. Made under the Pensions Act.

    Provides that where an officer retires after attaining the age of 45, no pension shall be payable to him until he attains the age of 50, and other related amendments.

    Provides that every female officer who has attained the age of 18 shall as of 1 July 1993 be deemed to be an associate and shall be liable to contribute to the Fund. A female officer who on 1 July 1993 has attained the age of 45 may, by written declaration, choose not to be an associate.

    Amends the first Schedule to the National Pensions Act in paragraph II by deleting item (a) and replacing it by the following - (a) (i) a public officer in respect of his functions as such; (ii) an employee of a local authority in respect of his function as such and which entitles him to a pension or a compassionate allowance under a pension law.

    Amendment made under Section 96 of the Industrial Relations Act to the Security Guards (Remuneration Order) Regulations 1986 modifies definition of "security guard" and changes the schedule of salaries. Regulations also modify provisions dealing with normal working day, overseas leave, and retirement gratuity or death benefit.

    Act consolidating and updating the law relating to detention in reform institutions. Part II provides for powers, privileges and duties of officers. Section 8 provides that "no officer shall be a member of a trade union or any other association having as an object the control or influence of the pay, pensions, or conditions of service of its members". The Act repeals a series of Acts set forth in a Schedule.

    Regulations made by the Prime Minister under ss. 99 and 108 of the Industrial Relations Act. Establishes a Central Whitley Council to consider any matter relating to working conditions and terms of employment in the public service and to make recommendations thereon. Creates a Civil Service Industrial Relations Commission to consider and investigate public service industrial disputes referred to it by the Prime Minister; and to hear and consider applications for registration, claims for negotiating rights and requests for agency shop orders. Repeals the Whitley Councils Regulations 1974.
