    Consolidates the provisions governing the payment of disabled persons maintenance allowance under section 69 of the Health Act, 1970 and provides for increases in the rates of allowances payable with effect from 25 July 1994. Made under the Health Act, 1947 and the Health Act, 1970.

    Establishes schemes of grants for the adaptation of houses for disabled persons and the carrying out of essential repairs to certain unfit houses in specified circumstances. Made under the Housing Act, 1966, as amended by the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1992 and the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1979.

    Social Welfare (Disability Benefit) Regulations, 1993 (S.I. No. 83 of 1993)

    One of the qualifying conditions for entitlement for Disability Benefit is that the claimant has 13 paid contributions in the governing contribution year. These Regulations exempt recipients of long-term Unemployment Assistance and Pre-Retirement Allowance from this condition. Revokes the Social Welfare (Disability Benefit) Regulations, 1992.
