No. 62 of 1997). - Adoption: 1997-06-12 | GBR-1997-R-47010 Requires owners and operators of off-shore boreholes to assess safety risks to employees and draw up an emergency response plan. Owners shall provide safety equipment, safety signs, fire and explosion detection and prevention devices, means of escape and evacuation, health surveillance, and drinking water.

Factories (Boreholes (Sites and Operations) Health and Safety) Regulations 1997 (L.N. No. 63 of 1997). - Adoption: 1997-06-12 | GBR-1997-R-47011 Stipulates that no on-land borehole enterprise commence drilling operations or be abandoned unless competent authorities are notified. Owners and operators of boreholes shall draw up a health and safety document assessing risks to workers and setting out escape and evacuation plans in case of an emergency. S. 10 requires operators to provide health surveillance. Schedule 2 sets forth further safety requirements, including work permits for the carrying out of dangerous operations, regular maintenance records of plant, and measures to prevent and combat explosions and fires.
