The Pneumoconiosis etc. (Workers' Compensation) (Payment of Claims) (Amendment) Regulations 2007 (S.I. 2007 No. 716). - Adoption: 2007-03-06 | Date of entry into force: 2007-04-01 | GBR-2007-R-75703 These Regulations amend the Pneumoconiosis etc. (Workers' Compensation) (Payment of Claims) Regulations 1988 (S.I. 1988/668) so as to increase the amounts payable under the Act. The increase in each case is 3.6% rounded up or down to the nearest £1 as appropriate.
The diseases to which the Act applies are pneumoconiosis, byssinosis, diffuse mesothelioma, primary carcinoma of the lung (where accompanied by asbestosis or diffuse pleural thickening) and diffuse pleural thickening.

With the consequential changes are incorporated improved measures for the payment of an allowance to the terminally ill and for persons receiving home dialysis.

It amends the law relating to the arrangements under which employers are reimbursed for the statutory sick pay which they pay to their employees. Article 3(1) reduces from 100 per cent to 80 percent the amounts of statutory sick pay which employers can recover from their remittances of national insurance contributions and Article 4 provides for relief for small employers.
