    Made under the Employment Standards Act, 2000. Regulates termination of employment. Determines which employees are not entitled to notice of termination or termination pay. Prescribes period of advance notice and information to be provided if number of employees whose employment is terminated exceeds 50. Also provides for manner of giving notice, notice of termination where seniority rights apply, provision of temporary work after giving notice of termination, and determination of period of employment. Finally, determines which employees are not entitled to severance pay. Revokes Regulation 327 of the Revised Regulations of Ontario, 1990 as well as Ontario Regulations 691/92, 169/95 and 382/95.

    This regulation made under the Workers' Compensation Act prescribes the requirements imposed on employers engaged primarily in contruction to re-employ injured workers who perform construction work. Part I deals with general matters; Part II provides rules for union workers and Part III for non-union workers.

    La loi sur les normes du travail établit un régime de normes minima pour les non-syndiqués. La présente loi modificative élargit la protection de cette catégorie de travailleurs. Intègre des dispositions (reprises d'un règlement) relatives au congé de maternité de 18 semaines et abolit toute exigence relative au service continu pour pouvoir en bénéficier. Introduit un congé parental sans solde dont la durée maximale est fixée à 34 semaines. Confère au salarié le droit de s'absenter pour remplir des obligations parentales ou familiales. Accorde au salarié un droit de recours contre une sanction qui lui aurait été infligée pour avoir refusé d'effectuer des heures supplémentaires en raison d'obligations parentales à l'égard de son enfant mineur. Interdit d'accorder un taux de salaire moindre ou un régime de vacances moins avantageux à certains salariés à temps partiel. Diminue graduellement de dix à cinq ans le nombre d'années de service requis pour qu'un salarié bénéficie de trois semaines de vacances. Abaisse graduellement de cinq à trois ans le nombre d'années de service requis pour avoir droit au recours en cas de congédiement sans cause juste et suffisante. Elargit le champ des sanctions qui donneront droit à un salarié d'avoir recours à un commissaire de travail. Accorde le droit de recours lors d'un congédiement pour cause de maladie ou d'accident. Attribue à la Commission des normes du travail le pouvoir d'exercer un plus grand nombre de recours pour les salariés. Transfère aux commissaires du travail la compétence pour l'étude des plaintes de congédiement sans cause juste et suffisante. Permet aux organismes sans but lucratif de défense des droits des salariés de porter plainte à la Commission des normes du travail pour le compte d'un salarié qui y consent expressément. Accorde aux plaignants le droit à une révision administrative lorsque la Commission des normes du travail refuse de poursuivre une enquête. Elargit l'assujettissement à la loi sur les normes du travail au gouvernement, à ses organismes et aux petites fermes mais en exclut les cadres supérieurs, sauf à l'égard de certains congés familiaux. Modifie les définitions de conjoint, de domestique et de service continu. Précise les fonctions et pouvoirs de la Commission des normes du travail. Contient des dispositions transitoires.

    This Act provides for entitlement to access to an educational programme. Sections 4-6 entitle students to receive school instruction in English, or French under certain conditions. Part 4 stipulates qualifications for the employment of teachers, contracts for employment, termination of contract, and salaries. Section 99 provides that notwithstanding anything in this Act, the Labour Relations Act, [since replaced by Labour Relations Code] applies to a board and the employees of the board. Section 243 provides that nothing in Parts 1, 2 or 3 restricts or prohibits a board or any employee of a board from exercising any rights under the Labour Relations Act,. Repeals the School Act, ch.S3 of RSA 1980.

    This Act provides for employment standards in the Province of Alberta. By s.18, every employer shall maintain employment records. Division 4 provides for payment of wages, minimum period for computing wages and overtime pay and deductions. Divisions 5 covers hours of work and overtime pay. Section 35 provides for the making of minimum wage Regulations. Section 36 provides for conditions of payment of less than the minimum wage to an individual person who is handicapped. Rules concerning vacations, general holidays and pay therefor are covered by Divisions 7 and 8. Division 9 relates to termination of employment. Parental benefits are provided for in Division 10, employment of young persons, Division 11. Section 77 provides for the appointment of an umpire for the collection of wages, overtime pay, entitlements and parental benefits. Divisions 17 and 18 provide for enforcement of orders of umpires and certain others. Division 20 relates to prohibitions, offenses and penalties. Repeals the Employment standards Act.
