    AN ACT to amend the Criminal Code, Chapter 101 of the Substantive Laws of Belize, Revised Edition 2011, to make provision for, among other things, the specification of a minimum term of years, which an offender sentenced to life imprisonment for murder shall serve before the offender can become eligible to be released on parole, incorporating the option of summary trial for the offences of arson and escape; and to provide for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

Also enlarges powers of criminal courts to pass non-custodial community sentences.

Makes provision for procedure on application for registration, valuation of an applicant's assets, form of certificate, duty to display certificate, prohibition of bearer shares, approval of issue or disposal of shares, prior approval of appointment of directors and senior officers, filing of annual accounts, books and records to be maintained at registered office, and improper records to be examined by an auditor.

    Amends the Commercial Free Zone Act (No. 27 of 1994). Provides for a social fee to be levied on the value of goods imported into a commercial free zone, specifies the uses of the social fee, rationalises the commercial free zone regulatory regime with regard to dealings with foreign currency sales and transfers, extends the income tax holiday period of commercial free zone businesses, and enlarges the Board of Directors of commercial free zones.
