Austria - Migrant workers - Law, Act
Employment of Foreigners Act (AuslBG) (BGBl. 218/1975). (Ausländerbeschäftigungsgesetz) - Adoption: 1975-03-20 | AUT-1975-L-42816 Provides access to the Austrian labour market for foreign workers. S. 2 defines foreign persons as all persons who are not Austrian citizens. However, this Act is not applicable to certain groups of foreign persons enumerated under s. 1 of this Act, e.g. refugees and guest professors. In principle, foreign persons who do not belong to the exceptions set out under s. 1 are only allowed to conclude an employment contract if they possess an employment permit granted by the labour market service. The labour market service is required to issue labour permits only in strict accordance with the situation of the labour market and forecasts for future development. Consolidated text.
