    The Republic of the Union of Myanmar’s National Strategic Plan on HIV/AIDS 2016–2020 gave the strategic guide for the country’s response to HIV at national, state/regional and local levels. The framework describes the current dynamics of the HIV epidemic and articulates a strategy to optimize investments through a fast track approach with the vision of ending HIV as a public health threat by 2030. Myanmar’s third National Strategic Plan (HIV NSP III) issues a call to all partners to front-load investments to close the testing gap and reach the 90–90–90 prevention and treatment targets to protect health for all.

    This strategy builds upon Myanmar’s political commitment and the achievements of the previous HIV NSP II, and is aligned with the Three Ones principles and guides the country to focus on geographical, population and intervention priorities to ensure the greatest impact.

    These regulations, which come into force on 4 January 2017, replace the Health (Infectious and Notifiable Diseases) Regulations 1966 by updating them, particularly to give effect to changes to the Health Act 1956 (the Act) relating to the management of infectious diseases and to remove provisions that are now redundant or unnecessary.
    The main changes are to—
    • set new forms and minimum information requirements for notifications of infectious diseases by health practitioners, persons in charge of medical laboratories, and funeral directors. These forms require notifications to be on a nonidentified basis for particular diseases (such as HIV):
    • simplify and update provisions supporting the co-ordination of environmental health officers with medical officers of health in managing the public health risk of infectious diseases:
    • set notice requirements that ensure individuals against whom directions, notices, or orders are issued or made under Part 3 of the Act are informed of key information about the public health risk of diseases and options for support services:
    • set out the information that, under the Act, contact tracers may require from persons with, or suspected of having, infectious diseases about persons with whom they have been in contact:
    • remove provisions about local committees, lists of infectious diseases, and specific disease management measures as these are now adequately covered by the Act or other means.

Faculta a todas las instituciones a disponer que los servidores públicos presten sus funciones en la modalidad de trabajo a disponibilidad y a aplicar la movilidad laboral como medida de prevención del COVID-19, especialmente con los servidores públicos que atiendan a usuarios.

    El citado decreto faculta a los/as trabajadores/as con 60 años o más, a aquellos/as que padezcan de enfermedades crónicas y a las trabajadoras embarazadas a acogerse a vacaciones vencidas o adelantadas, por un mínimo de 15 días calendario. Dispone la aplicación del artículo 197A del Código de Trabajo referente a la movilidad laboral. Impone a los empleadores el deber de informar a sus trabajadores las opciones de trabajar en las modalidades de teletrabajo o trabajo a disponibilidad, así como del uso de vacaciones o permisos de trabajo con el objetivo de prevenir o atender a personas afectadas por el COVID-19, disponiendo que la decisión de la opción que habrá de implementarse corresponde al empleador.
