Abstract/Citation
This Resolution is composed of 19 articles. Article 1 deals with terms and definitions. Article 2 provides for the establishment of the Pesticides Committee, which shall have the following competences: examine and evaluate the applications for pesticide registration; list expired pesticides for finding suitable solutions; encourage the use of alternative chemical pesticides; and, propose education and information programmes related to the correct and secure use of pesticides. Article 3 lists pesticides prohibited from registration and importation. Article 4 defines procedures for the registration of pesticides. Articles 6 and 7 deal with the revocation of registration and re-registration of pesticides. Article 8 provides for licences necessary for the importation of pesticides. Articles 10 and 11 define requirements, conditions and data for pesticides as well as the information to be included in pesticides' labels. Articles 13-15 deal with the sampling and analysis of pesticides. Article 16 deals with the control and inspection on pesticides. Article 17 prohibits the issuance of any technical bulletin or advertising any pesticides before the approval of the concerned Authority. Article 18 gives six months to regulate activities related to pesticides according to the Federal Law No. 41 of 1992.
