The FSVG regulates the health, accident and pension insurance cover of self-employed professionals in Austria. These include doctors, pharmacists, commercial trustees, lawyers etc. At present, this law has only been extended to the following groups and insurance branches: Self-employed members of a medical association are provided with pension and accident insurance cover. Members of the Austrian Chamber of Pharmacists (independent pharmacists division), members of the Austrian Chamber of Patent Solicitors and members of the Chamber of Architects and Engineering Consultants (starting 1 January 2013) are insured for pension purposes under the FSVG.
