Résumé/Citation: Amends numerous laws so as to provide more flexibility in working time and conditions, to promote continued education through paid and unpaid leave, and to allow for the temporary replacement of workers on educational leave through part-time or older workers. Provides for a possible substitution of unemployment benefit with continued education benefit, and solidarity benefits for persons whose hours of work are reduced or who are employed at a nominal level. Legislation amended includes: the Labour Contract Adaptation Act (BGBl. 459/1993), Enterprise Pension Act (282/1990), the Labour Market Service Act (315/1994), Unemployment Insurance Act (609/1977), the Lay-Off Benefit Act (47/1997), General Social Insurance Act (ASVG) (amends provsions regarding health insurance and partial pension), Social Insurance (Small-Scale Industry) Act (560/1978), Self-Employed Persons' Sickness Insurance Act (287/1971), and the Farmers' Social Insurance (559/1978).
