Resumen/cita: Provides parents who are both employed with a special paid leave entitlement for one of them to look after their children. This paid leave for working parents of a newly-born baby begins eight weeks after the birth (end of maternity leave) and ends after a period of three years. Also provides parents with a subsidy of up to an amount of six hundred Marks which is paid from the birthday until the end of the eighteenth month (for babies who are born after 31 December 1992 this benefit ends after twenty-four months). During this paid leave dismissals of the working parents of newly-born babies are void.
