Second Region

This Act governs the treatment of juveniles who violate the law. The Act applies to anyone below the age of 17 years old. Anyone who is 17 years or above is treated, for the purposes of criminal law, as an adult. The Act provides for two categories, that of 'child' who is anyone under the age of fourteen years old and 'young person' who is anyone aged between the ages of 14 years up to 16 years old.
