| Abstract/Citation: | The Act amends the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority Act, 1980 (Act No. XXXVI of 1980) with respect to amending the name of the "workers association" to "workers welfare society," repeals the provisions concerning the workers' representation and welfare committees. The Act also prohibits any links with NGOs. Repeals the Export Processing Zones Workers Union and Industrial Relations Act, 2004 (No. 23 of 2004) but extends the effective date of the current scheme for another three years. |
