Second Region

Implements the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea, signed in London on the 10th of June 1948. Amends the provisions of the Merchant Shipping Acts 1894-1947 relating to the construction of passenger steamers, life-saving appliances, wireless and radio navigational aids. Makes provision for the charging of fees.
