Second Region

Contains several amendments and additions to the Labour Code including:
- Article 18 bis is added to Chapter II of Title II preventing the employer: from allowing any of his foreign workers to work in other work placements other than his; from employing any foreign workers who are illegal or have a work permit from another employer; from appointing a foreign worker to a position reserved for Omani nationals.
- Para. 4 of article 106 of the Labour Code is replaced by an article providing that if a court of law finds that a foreign worker was dismissed illegally, then the employer has to either compensate the worker or reinstate them in their original position.
- Additional articles are added to Title 10:
Article 113 bis sets the penalty for violations of article 18 bis.
Article 118 bis sets the penalty for violations of provisions in Title 6.
Article 124 sets a general penalty for the violations of this Code.
Article 125 enables the Minister of Labour to change the penalty procedures in certain cases.
- Article 114 is replaced to include the amount of money paid as penalty by the worker (between 1000-2000 Omani Rial) and their expulsion from Oman as well as setting out the penalty for the employer.
