| Abstract/Citation: | The Act deals with licensing, registration and concessions with respect to mining. It also includes provisions providing that preference should be given to the employment of workers in Botswana and that suitable training should be provided for them consistent with provisions on safety, efficiency and economy. Repeals the old Mines and Minerals Act. However, all subsidiary legislation made under the repealed Act, and in force immediately prior to the coming into operation of this Act shall, in so far as such subsidiary legislation may not be inconsistent with the provisions of this Act, continue in force as if made under this Act. |
