| Abstract/Citation: | Amends the principal Act (Cap. 274) by amending the long title by inserting after "and children" the words "to implement the International Labour Organisation Convention on Minimum Age and the International Labour Organisation Convention on the Worst Forms of Child Labour". Consequential amendments include increasing the definition of child from fourteen to fifteen years and inserting two new definitions, one on "covered worksites" and the other on the "worst forms of child labour" into section 2. Also amends section 4, in particular by inserting a new section 4A on the prohibition of the employment of children and 4B on the prohibition of employment of children in the worst forms of child labour. Amendments to section 7 and 17 concern exceptions with respect to light work for family purposes and artistic performances. A new section 17A is also inserted concerning prohibition of employment for the worst forms of child labour. |
