Second Region

In cases where individuals do not receive their Old Age Security Benefits in the month for which entitlment begins, benefit payments will be paid at a later date in the form of a lump-sum. A province may then agree to provide individuals with immediate financial assistance on the understanding that when their lumpsum Old Age Security Benefit is processed, the province is repaid. The Regulation prescribes the terms and conditions under which such reimbursement will be made.
