Abstract/Citation: This Act provides for the protection of the privacy of individuals, and related purposes. The Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission Act 1986 is amended by omitting "Sex Discrimination Commissioner or Privacy Commissioner", and substituting "Sex Discrimination Commissioner" therefor. There are also amendments to the complaints procedure of the Human Rights Act. The Merit Protection (Australian Government Employees) Act 1984 is also amended in relation to procedures for the investigation of complaints and other matters.
