| Abstract/Citation: |
Provides for the protection of children under the age of 16 years. Allows for the director to place a child in employment either as an apprentice or, in certain circumstances, in suitable employment without apprenticeship (section 73). Part XI regulates the Employment of Children. It is prohibited to endanger a child by involving them in a public exhibition or performance or any preparation, training or rehearsal for a public exhibition or performance (section 79). It is also prohibited for a child to be involved in street trading between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m or at any time on a Sunday (section 80). |
