Abstract/Citation: | Prohibits the buying, selling, vending, bringing from or sending to, receiving, detaining or confining any woman or child, or arranging for any woman or child to act or receive any act for sexual gratification of a third person. Gives the competent authority powers to inspect and monitor places where trafficking may occur as well as powers to detain victims of trafficking for a certain period in an appropriate place (not a prison or cell)in order to protect them from traffickers. They are also to provide assistance to the victim. Repatriation of foreign victims is to be done in accordance with agreements set forth in treaties or conventions signed by the Government of Thailand. |
