Abstract/Citation: Made under Fisheries Management Act 1994. Comprehensive legislation governing administration of fisheries. Divided into 14 parts. Part 1 contains preliminary provisions. Part 2 provides for protected fish, prohibited size fish and bag limits, Parts 3 and 4 for fishing gear, and Part 5 for miscellaneous matters relating to fisheries management. Part 6 governs commercial share management fisheries, Part 7 licensing and other commercial fisheries management, Part 8 restricted fisheries, and Part 9 activities of fish receivers and fish records. Part 10 deals with charter fishing management, Part 11 with protection of aquatic habitats, Part 12 with administrative matters, and Part 13 with enforcement. Part 14 contains transitional provisions.
