Second Region

Amends Social Security (International Agreements) Act 1999. Gives effect to Agreement on Social Security between Australia and Canada. Covers, in relation to Australia, age pensions, disability support pension, carer payments, pensions payable to widowed persons, and additional child amount payable to persons in receipt of aforementioned benefits. With regard to Canada, applies to Old Age Security Act and Canada Pension Plan. Also extends and modifies Agreement between Australia and the Netherlands on Social Security of 4 January 1991, as well as Agreement between Australia and Portugal on Social Security of 30 April 1991. Finally, contains protocol to the Agreement between Australia and Austria on Social Security of 1 April 1992.
