| Abstract/Citation: | Comprehensive legislation on criminal justice for young persons. Divided into nine parts. Part I provides for extrajudicial measures, such as warnings, cautions, referrals and extrajudicial sanctions. Part II regulates organization of youth criminal justice system. Part III deals with judicial measures, namely prosecution, right to counsel, notices to parents, detention before sentencing, appearance, release from detention in custody, medical and psychological reports, referral to child welfare agency, and adjudication. Part IV provides for sentencing; Part V for custody and supervision. Part VI deals with publication, records, and information. Finally, Parts 7-9 contain general and transitional provisions. |
