Second Region

Prohibits and sets forth punishments for child prostitution, facilitating child prostitution, iducement to child prostitution, production, import, and distribution of child pornography, and trafficking of children. Such prohibited acts, if committed outside of Japan, shall be subject to s. 3 of the Penal Code (No. 45 of 1908). Provides for the protection of the dignity of children during investigations into acts falling under the law, and requires the national government and local governments to provide education regarding the rights of children. Also provides for care and protection of victims of child prostitution and pornography and international cooperation aimed at preventing and researching relevant crimes.
