Abstract/Citation: Consolidates legislation regarding the care, protection, and maintenance of children. A child is defined as a person below 18 years of age. Part II sets forth rights of the child and parental duty to maintain a child. S. 7 prohibits employment of children in activities which may be detrimental to their health, education, or mental, physical, or moral development. Repeals numerous preceding Acts, including the Infants Act (Ch. 138), the Status of Children Act (Ch. 143), and the Family Maintenance Act (Ch. 136).
