Abstract/Citation: | Chapter I: State and System of Government. The basis for law shall be Islamic Sharia and the system of government shall be a sultanate. Chapter II: the Principles Guiding the State's Policy. There shall be a free economy, and the state shall provide for assistance in case of sicknees, old age or disability. Chapter III: Public Rights and Duties. Prohibits discrimination on the ground of gender, origin, colour, language, religion, and social status. Guarantees personal freedom, freedom from torture, freedom of expression, association and religion within the limits of the law. Prohibits forming of societies which are "adverse to the order of society." Chapter IV: Head of State, Council of Ministers, Prime Minister Chapter V: Oman Council Chapter VI: The Judiciary Chapter VII: General Provisions. |
