Abstract/Citation
Prohibits children under 14 years of age to work in factories or commercial enterprises unless the child knows how to read and write. This stipulation does not apply to children engaged in light or domestic work. Prohibits children under 18 from working in certain types of employment, including mines, shipbuilding, and night work. Also proscribes the employment of women in work which involves prolonged standing or lifting of heavy objects, and night work. Prohibits discrimination against women in terms of conditions of work and remuneration. Provides maternity protection and requires the establishment of facilities for women and children at the workplace.
