Second Region

Establishes liability for pollution and authorizes the Council of Ministers to issue regulations enforcing the anti-pollution provisions of the law. Environmental impact assessment is made a mandatory condition of certain activities. The Ministry of environment and its regional inspectorates exercise overall control and are responsible for specific tasks in the area of environmental protection.
